The United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS), or the Postal Inspectors, is the law enforcement arm of the United States Postal Service . All CDS Suppliers are required to provide the original signed screening documents to USPS, to be submitted for approved by USP Inspection Service.  A photocopy of all documents are required to be retained in a file at the local post office they are providing the service. CDS supplier are also required to maintain a set for their own records of all people handling mail and parcels on their contracts.   USPIS  supports and protects the U.S. Postal Service, its employees, infrastructure, and customers by enforcing the laws that defend the nation’s mail system from illegal or dangerous use.

All CDS suppliers should be aware of their responsibilities as business owners to ensuring efficiency, accountability and integrity by detecting and preventing theft and fraud when providing service for the United States Postal Service.
