USPS loves CDS suppliers.

Do you want to know why?

Because they know many suppliers will never fully read or understand the contract they signed.

For years, myself, others, and even people within the CDS office have told suppliers the same three words:

FOLLOW THE CONTRACT.

The problem is that too many people bid to win the route, not to fully understand whether the route can be operated properly, legally, and profitably.

When suppliers do not understand their contract, they are easier to control, pressure, and manipulate.

They accept verbal instructions that are not in writing.
They perform extra work without proper authorization.
They absorb additional costs without documentation.
They make Facebook comments based on opinions instead of contract language.
Then they wonder why USPS holds the advantage.

Respectfully, there are days when I dread reading some of the Facebook responses given to suppliers who are asking legitimate questions because they want to learn and follow the contract. Instead of accurate, contract-based guidance, too many responses are based on opinion, assumption, or “this is how we’ve always done it.”

This is not about being anti-USPS. This is about being a professional independent business owner operating under a federal contract.

USPS is going to protect USPS.

The question is whether you are protecting your own business.

Read your contract. Understand your contract. Document everything.
